I collaborated closely with the Lead Graphic Designer to refresh the visual identity of the 2014 Vancouver Fringe Festival. We wanted the design to feel vibrant and energetic, capturing the festival's lively spirit.
Working alongside the Lead Graphic Designer, we were tasked with creating new visuals for the 2014 Vancouver Fringe Festival. We aimed to inject a sense of playfulness into the brand, using vibrant colors, ribbon, and round elements to evoke the lively, dynamic atmosphere of the festival. One challenge was incorporating the festival’s beloved hand-illustrated mascots, particularly Jimmy—a balding man with a mustache who has been part of the festival since 2008. The original illustrations had an older style, so we colorized Jimmy and made some adjustments to give him a more modern feel while staying true to his roots.
After the completion of the Vancouver Fringe Festival, I was asked to continue contributing to various projects, including promotional materials for upcoming shows and the creation of an annual report. Being apart of the Fringe family was amazing and I couldn't have done it without Ming Wong and Debby Reis.
